As we reflect on this season of gratitude, it reminds me of the extraordinary power of community. Thanks to your unwavering support, our Scholars continue to LEARN, HEAL, and UPLIFT.
Your contributions go beyond scholarships and programs. They empower students to believe in their full potential and to LEARN as much as possible, to succeed in academia and in their professions. From literacy to STEM, to academic counseling and career mentorship, we are with them on their journey from the first grade to their first careers.
And here at NGS, we don’t just support the student; we level up the entire family.
We know parental involvement is one of the most significant factors in a child’s academic success, so we are proud to serve the whole family. This last month alone, we distributed over 450 pounds of food to NGS families, supported 55 families with navigating housing resources, and provided workshops to 39 families in “Family College,” a program that provides financial literacy, computer literacy, mental health, and small business development education. Through these services, we help families HEAL.
Finally, our students are learning a culture of giving back to their communities through their Community UPLIFT Projects, where they commit over 220 hours over 5 years to develop projects that make a social impact. By ideating a vision and executing on an idea, Scholars build purpose and confidence.
