Family is at the center of all things NGS and we look to support our families in multiple ways. And, we work to uplift each other as our families volunteer to cook, drive, garden and support our students in a variety of ways throughout the year.

To continue building a community of mutual support, NGS families recently joined together in a grassroots effort to create our first-ever NGS Parent Committee.

The overall purpose of the committee is to offer equitable opportunities for parents to participate, and to establish a heightened sense of belonging. Whether serving hot cocoa to students before class, planting winter vegetables in our community garden, organizing our food pantry or making a financial gift, we empower every parent with the desire and capacity to contribute whatever works best for them. Understanding the value and inspiration of strong role models in our students’ lives, we are grateful for this self-initiated leadership from our parents.

Please join us in welcoming the NGS Parent Committee inaugural slate of elected officers:

  • President: Viridiana Razo
  • Vice President: Carolina Gramajo
  • Co-Secretaries: Laura Llerena & Fatima Castenada
  • Treasurer: Aracely Reyes

“As an immigrant I recognize that my life hasn’t been easy in this country, but I found a place that makes me feel welcome and it cares about the advance and progress of my son’s education. This gives me the hope that my son will triumph in his studies. I am grateful to NGS for giving my son the opportunity to grow as a student and human being, to develop skills that will help him to reach his goals and to have the mindset of a brighter future. I am eternally grateful.”
